Jo Weech currently serves in-house as Head of Talent for a DoD contractor in the DC area, while continuing to serve startups and small businesses with recruiting and retention strategies and execution. Her successes have won her awards over the past few years, and she contributes content on talent in webinars, podcasts, and national and international HR and Recruiting conferences. Jo has a passion for sharing her expertise (and mistakes!) with colleagues in the industry, and is a serial volunteer, helping job seekers in transition from military, federal government, universities, and the mature workforce who cannot retire.
Her personal article on age discrimination posted on LinkedIn last summer went viral, and she has become an advocate for educating and eliminating it from current workforce practices. As the first charter member of the Association of Talent Acquisition Professionals (ATAP), she also seeks to legitimize and elevate her profession to the highest possible standards.
