9:00am - Morning Workshop A:
Cohesively connecting both social media and mobile technology is crucial to a company’s success in today’s competitive recruitment marketplace. Companies need to engage and attract candidates in order to stay ahead of the competition. From a candidate’s perspective, it’s an expectation to be able to communicate and interact with prospective employers via social and mobile platforms. This session will examine how to harness and implement a step by step process to integrate cutting edge mobile and social media practices into a current recruitment strategy.
What you’ll learn:
  • An overview of current trends for both mobile and social recruiting and why they should matter to employers.
  • Vetting both mobile and social branding tools and identifying where best to utilize recruitment budget.
  • Best practices that companies have already started using to mobilize their current process.
  • The most cutting edge mobile and social marketing tools available for recruiters today.

1:00pm - Afternoon Workshop B (Master Class Part II):

Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter were built to help connect people and not originally designed with search in mind. Since then they have evolved to become extraordinary people-finding resources but most recruiters only skim the surface and end up competing for the same "top search results" everyone else can find. In this course you will learn how to get around built in obstacles and be able to find passive candidates hidden in plain sight by using searches you didn't know were even possible.

  • The five best ways to search each Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn using advanced search functions
  • How to get around built in limitations on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn through public search engines like Google and Bing
  • Take advantage of proven ways to use company names, job titles, geographic keywords and names of groups and individuals
  • Get amazingly targeted through simple Facebook Graph Search hacks
  • Connect with people that are otherwise unreachable

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a workshop and a track session?

The general summit is made up of track sessions (45 minute talks).

Workshops are 2 to 3 hour pre-event classes, and are not included in the general summit registration fee. Workshops must be registered for separately, and topics need to be selected prior to arriving to the summit. Workshops are a very different experience from the general summit, as they are made up of smaller groups of attendees, where the instructor incorporates hands-on activities and discussions.

Do I have to pick one track and stick to it?

No. We create tracks so that you have the opportunity to customize your event experience and attend the sessions that are the most relevant to you and your team.

Will I have access to speaker slides during the event?

Yes. We will also be emailing a bitly link to you during the event where we will be uploading presentations slides and MP3s. Don’t worry, we have several staff on-site that can answer any questions about any problems accessing conference materials online.

Do we get any type of discount for sending a group from our company?

Yes. The more the merrier. We have group discounts available depending on how many team members you plan on sending. Contact mark.awit@gsmiweb.com for more information.

Do you offer discounts for non-profits and government agencies?

Yes and yes. We have special pricing for the budget challenged. Just be sure to use your .org, .mil, .gov and .edu email addresses respectively when you register.

I registered online but didn’t get an email confirmation or receipt yet.

You should receive a confirmation receipt from info@gsmiweb.com immediately after your transaction is completed. If you do not see the email in your inbox then please be sure to check your spam folder in case it got flagged as spam.

I want to speak or would like to submit a proposal on behalf of a friend/co-worker. Is there still time?

Yes. While we’ve had a lot of speaker interest this year, we are still looking for and evaluating more potential speakers for #SRSC San Francisco. We are also accepting submissions for #SRSC Boston this July. You can submit your speaker requests to kara.mignanelli@gsmiweb.com

How do I motivate my boss to let me go to #SRSC this year?

In the event that begging and pleading does not work, please utilize these value propositions in your persuasive argument with the boss: The top recruiting and sourcing thought leaders will be here talking about the latest trends and winning strategies in social recruiting. You’ll hear best practices from leading companies including Southwest Airlines, Informatica, Zappos, Whole Foods and more. No only will you benefit from the things you’ll learn and the connections you can make - but your company’s overall talent strategy will benefit and in the long run, that’s good for the bottom line.

Also, remind them that your competitors will be there learning how to recruit top talent away from you if you don’t go. Plus, all of your recruiter friends will be there.

I registered but something came up and I cannot attend, can I send my colleague?

Yes. You may transfer your registration to your lucky colleague. Be sure to give us as much notice as possible, otherwise they’ll be wondering why their name badge has your name on it.

Do you have a room block for this Summit?

Yes. The Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel is a fantastic hidden gem in the heart of San Francisco, and you don’t have to be a Marine to stay there! We’ve got a great room rate of $199 but only until January 6th.

How do I get from SFO to the Hotel?

Catch a taxi, take Uber Black for the flat rate of $65 or UberSUV for $81 or you can take the BART for the bargain price of $8.65.

Where is the best place to park at the Marines’ Memorial Hotel?

Event parking is available for club guests at the Olympic Club Garage with validation (validation machine is located in the Hotel Lobby) at the rate of $6.00per hour for up to 4 hours or $24.00 maximum for up to 12 hours. Event parking is not guaranteed at the Olympic Club. Luckily, there are many parking garages in the area.
